synopsis
Wong Fei-hung (Jet Li) and sidekick Leung Fun arrive in Beijing just as Empress Tzu Hsi announces a Lion Dance martial arts contest. Also accompanying Wong is Aunt Yee, his young, Westernized aunt-by-adoption, to whom he is secretly betrothed. Wong faces a possible romantic rival in a Russian diplomat, Tumanovsky--a former classmate of Aunt Yee's--and a formidable martial arts rival in the brutal Club Foot, who has seriously injured Wong's father. Club Foot works for a ruthless brigand who is determined to win the prestigious Lion Dance contest at any cost.
