Hi, from Canada. I just have a few Questions on RMD.
Firstly, the prison scene was taken in Hongkong, so why was everyone speaking Mandarin Chinese most of the time, and then again, why did they switch to Cantonese twice? (First when the guard was tying him up, and then while he was talking about the race with another at the gate.)
Also, why was the English captioning for the first conversation between Han and his father so different from what they said in Chinese? (ie, The captioning showed that Han was describing how his Dad had fled to America with his brother, leaving Han to take his place in prison, when Han was actually describing how he fled to Hongkong, leaving the two brothers to fend for themselves.) As I'm conversant in both English and Mandarin, I'm used to listening to Chinese while reading the English captioning, and I found it hard to focus when they didn't synchronize.
Finally, I'd just like to add that I really enjoyed the show, and I think you acted really well. I loved the fighting scenes, as well as the final conversation between Han and his Chou before Chou committed suicide. Good Job, keep it up!!

When the movie is first written, it is entirely in English, including what will later be foreign language dialogue. Once the script is agreed upon, or sometimes sooner, they have Chinese translations.
There are times when words can't be literally translated, of course, and sometimes the production staff is too lazy to get a professional translator to translate the words precisely from English to Chinese. And sometimes they translate an older version of the script which goes through rewrites after the translations have already been completed. And there are also times -- and this is somewhat common -- where the person who does the captioning doesn't understand Chinese and is working off an older version of the script.
Some actors in a film speak mandarin ... some speak Cantonese. You basically have to work within the limitations and abilities of those people in the production.
