GREEN HORNET POSTPONED
(LOS ANGELES) - - Production on the highly-anticipated remake of The Green Hornet has been postponed in order to provide additional time to perfect the script.
The Green Hornet has been a priority at Universal for several years and generated renewed excitement over the summer when the studio landed Jet Li for the role of Kato. The film was put on track for a winter start of production, however, it recently became clear that in order to do the film justice, more time is needed to prepare.
The role of Kato is one that Jet Li has eyed with great interest for some time and still hopes to play.
"Of course, I am disappointed that the project has been postponed," commented Li, "but as I always say, the most important element in any film is the story. If the story is not fully-developed, then you are not ready to start. It is better to wait until everything is set so that we can make a great movie for the fans."
The Green Hornet was intended to be Li's next project after he wraps production on Kiss of the Dragon, which is currently filming in France. Li will now fill the open slot in his schedule with The One.
