I have been longingly searching your films for one thing - a kiss. The romantic element in your movies always seems to be unreachable, leaving the viewer with a sense of sexual tension rather than experiencing an over-all catharsis. Is there a reason (personal or otherwise) that your characters avoid physical intimacy?

Thanks for your time

Jet's Response:

To be honest, I'm not a very good actor -- especially when it comes to romantic scenes. Even in my real life I'm not that familiar with those situations. I think the writers or directors know me and realize that it is a part of my personality and a limitation of my abilities. I think they create characters with that in mind.

Sometimes, like in Romeo Must Die, we shot two versions for the ending. One where Aaliyah kissed me, and one where she did not. The producer finally decided to use the version with no kiss. But in my movies I usually don't kiss people. In The Legend of Fong Sai Yuk there was a scene with a peck on the cheek, but that's about the most I've done.
